On January 12, 2010 Haiti was struck with a magnitude 7.0 earthquake. There has been an outpouring of aid delivered to this nation. Many congregations have and will take up a special offering for the relief efforts today. Week of Compassion has set up a site to receive your donations [HERE], with 100% of the donations going directly to the aid efforts.
According to Brandon Gilvin of Week of Compassion there are a few things that we may do to assist the people of Haiti in the wake of this terrible disaster.
1) Pray. Pray without ceasing. Be present with our sisters & brothers in Haiti.
2) Make cash donations to assist in the rescue, recovery, and rebuilding efforts.
3) Put together Hygiene Kits & Baby Kits and follow the instructions to ship the kits to Church World Service.
Let us be the body of Christ and answer the prayers of our Haitian sisters & brothers. Everyday that goes by the people of Haiti suffer. Let us find our compassion for Haiti.
